Automatic Standby Generator

Stand-alone generators seamlessly turn on when you lose power, ensuring your business's operations are not interrupted. The benefits of an Automatic Standby Generator are:

  • Electric Start - The generator will start automatically when it senses a loss of utility power from the electrical panel.
  • Automatic Transfer Switch - The ATS automatically switches your business’ electrical panel from its connection to the grid to your generator when it detects a loss of power. The ATS also protects the city’s electrical grid from being back-fed power by your generator.
  • Increased Power Capacity - Generators can be sized to power your entire facility or just critical functions, so you can keep everything running or just those items you need to stay operational.
  • Permanently Installed - Generators are permanently installed on your premises. Most standby generators run on liquid propane and natural gas, which can be permanently attached to your generator, so you never need to worry about going to the store and buying fuel or having it delivered.

Portable Generator with a Generator Transfer Switch

You may already own a portable generator or do not want to invest in an automatic stand-alone generator. A good second option is to install a manual generator transfer switch to connect a portable generator to your business. The benefit of a manual generator transfer switch is that the setup to power the items you have determined to be critical in the case of a power outage is set up when the switch is installed. So instead of running extension cords from your portable generator to these items, you move the portable generator to its location, connect it and flip the transfer switch to generator power. Our specialists can help you select and order the right generator and select and install the transfer switch for you.

An additional option for businesses in this category is to install the manual generator transfer switch and enroll in a service that delivers emergency backup generators as a rental service when needed. This can be a cost-effective option if the cost of a large-capacity standby generator is too much for the business

Portable Generator

A portable generator is the most economical option to power your business or at least some critical items. This option may not make sense for larger businesses, but for smaller operations, it may work well. It will require running extension cords and trips to fill it with fuel, but it may still be a good option for powering the critical items in your business in case of an outage.
